The Omnia Health Awards have been postponed to2021

Given the current intensity of activity across the Healthcare industry as it leads the fight against COVID-19, and the necessary forward planning to deliver a safe and successful event, we believe that running the Omnia Health Awards in 2021 will be in the best interests of all participants and will ensure the quality of experience and positive participation that has come to be expected.

The exact dates and schedule for the awards will be announced as soon as we conclude our discussions with stakeholders and local authorities. 

The awards

 

Taking place on the first day of Global Health, the inaugural Omnia Health Awards will celebrate outstanding achievements in healthcare this coming September in Riyadh and will set a tone of celebration for the exhibition. 

Celebrating outstanding achievements in healthcare, the Omnia Health Exhibition will have its inaugural awards season this coming Septemberin Riyadh. The awards will honour and reward outstanding institutional and individual achievements, both in the region and globally.

2020 Omnia Health Awards Categories:

This award is presented to the organization, department or person who has made the greatest contribution to support clinical treatment and care with the use of IT.

  • Show how the IT leader's work is producing measurable benefits for patients
  • Detail how the work has enhanced the organisation
  • Demonstrable improved patient outcomes

This award is presented to the organisation or department that has made the greatest contribution in the field of medical laboratory.

  • Safety within the laboratory
  • Waste management policy and blood management policy
  • Innovation
  • Continuous improvement – for example Lean and Six Sigma

This award will recognise an outstanding healthcare professional that has made a significant contribution to the healthcare industry in the Middle East. These contributions, whether they have been in research, leadership, innovation or mentorship, must have had a lasting impact in the region and must have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to develop the industry.

Individuals may be nominated by a company or a peer who must detail why they feel the nominee deserves to be recognised for their achievements.

This award is presented to a woman that has made a great contribution to the healthcare industry, through innovation, inspirational leadership, and excellence.

  • Demonstrated significant professional achievements

  • Contribution towards the improvement of the healthcare industry

This award is presented to a person of determination who works and contributes greatly to the healthcare industry.

This award aims to recognise outstanding young talent working within the broader healthcare communications sector, who, at an early stage in his or her career, has demonstrated real potential for achieving great things, either as a generalist or a specialist.

Review criteria - All applicants will be evaluated according to the following:

  • Academic achievements, which include education, research, publications and affiliation with professional associations
  • Social commitments, including volunteer work and public education programs
  • Role as an educator and a mentor involved in educating junior surgical staff and medical students, and participates in organising education activities, such as conferences

Application requirements:

  • Applicant must not be more than 40 years of age as of 1 January 2020
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement (1000 words)

Submit at least 3 letters of recommendation as follows:

  • Mandatory letter from the department chair/chief
  • Recommended letter from a peer
  • Recommended letter from a junior colleague
  • Highly recommended to provide a letter from the candidate's mentor if applicable

Entries must include a print quality colour photograph of the nominee.

Shortlisted entrants will be invited to present to an independent judging panel on 19 September 2020. They will be required to give a short presentation on their entry and will then be asked questions by the judges relating to their career to date.

Eligibility criteria


  • Projects are only eligible to enter one category
  • An entrant may submit as many individual projects as desired, provided each entry is in full compliance with the criteria
  • Projects will be assessed on their impact/evidence from the past 12 months (excluding the individual awards)
  • Entrants can include attachments to help support their submission (maximum of 4 attachments; file size must not exceed 5MB)

Judging process

First judging round

 

All submitted entries will be reviewed individually by the panel of judges and will form the basis for the shortlisted projects which are to be announced by 16 August 2020.

Judging day

 

All shortlisted entrants will be invited to present their projects to the panel of judges during the Judging Day held on 19 September 2020. The finalist are required to attend the Judging Day to present their project to the panel. Please note failure to attend the Judging Day will result in your project being eliminated as a potential category winner.

Final selection of the winners in each of the categories will be assessed by the panel on the Judging Day after all entries have been presented.

  • Judges are seeking points of distinction that make the submission stand out from the rest – the gems, the examples of lateral thinking, excellence and achievements

Terms and Conditions


These terms and conditions govern the submission of your entry into, and the operation of, the Awards.

  • All Award nominations must:
    • relate to the following subject matter: digital healthcare;
    • comply with the stated eligibility criteria. Please note that Informa may reject or disregard any Award nomination, at the point of or after submission, if Informa: (i) determines in its absolute discretion that acceptance of the nomination into the Awards is in any way inappropriate, or (ii) is required by any applicable law or instructed by any financial institution to cease trading (a) with certain individuals and/or entities, and/or (b) in, or in relation to, certain geographical locations;
    • be submitted electronically via the online awards system; (submission form link)
    • be in English and be received by Thursday, July 23, 2020
    • be clearly and succinctly written, and remain within any submission guidelines issued by Informa in respect of the Awards;
    • deal in grounded and supported statements, preferably with supporting facts and figures.
  • There are eleven Award categories. Entrants may participate in multiple Award categories, but a separate nomination entry must be submitted for each Award category entered.
  • Informa shall have the right to verify the content of any Award nomination received. Without prejudice to the foregoing, Informa is entitled to accept all Award nominations in good faith and treat the same as true and accurate.
  • In the event of any disputes or issues, the decision made by the Award judges is final. Informa shall not be obliged to justify the outcomes of the Awards or any other decisions made in relation to the Awards, nor enter into any correspondence in respect of the same.
  • Submission of an Award nomination indicates acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • In submitting an Award nomination, you authorise the use and/or reproduction by Informa of images and information provided in your submission in relation to any editorial/advertising/marketing/other purposes initiated by Informa in conjunction with the Awards. To the extent that your Award submission contains commercially sensitive information, please clearly mark such information as ‘not for publication’ and bring the same expressly to Informa’s attention.
  • Nothing in these terms and conditions limits Informa’s liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to the foregoing, Informa shall have no liability to you with respect to the Awards, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), for breach of statutory duty or otherwise. Without limitation, Informa hereby expressly excludes any liability in relation to (i) loss of profits, (ii) loss of or damage to goodwill, and (iii) loss of use or corruption of software, data or information.
  • Informa may modify these terms and conditions at any time in its absolute discretion. You are advised to review these terms and conditions regularly, as they may be updated from time to time (both during the specific open period of an Awards submission and in-between the various series of Awards operated by Informa). Changes shall not apply retrospectively to Award nominations received prior to such changes being made (unless legally required). In relation to each Award nomination submitted, you agree to be bound by whichever version of the terms and conditions is in force at the relevant time of such submission.
